The ICON - Architectural Shoot

I started working with Marathon Development on this project late 2016. What it has become is nothing short of amazing. This project really has transformed downtown Norfolk.

Here are a few images from early 2017 with the shoot elevator and crane on the exterior of the building.

Here a some of the images that I believe really highlight the building. I say a few but this is a long picture blog because it really is too hard to narrow these images down. I took this first image to show where this building is located and how much excitement there is in the city. From here you can see that you have the Waterside District, the Ferris Wheel, and the new Hilton.

So let's start with the Lobby entrance. This is what you see when you walk in the South entrance to the building. You can enter the building from either the South or North facades.

The second floor Mezzanine floor has a Workout Center, Showers, Resting Lounge, And Tanning Rooms. You can see the workout center from the West side facade of the building walking up Atlantic Street.

The Second floor is amazing. It has plenty of lounging areas with fireplaces and televisions for the residents. There is a large screen television that can be seen as you stroll up East Main Street. There are Pool Tables, a Wine Vault, and a Movie Theater.

Moving up to the 21st floor where there is a Penthouse suite complete with a full kitchen.

And now up to the Rooftop lounge. Up here there are two full kitchens, a nanawall system that is designed to open up the entire inside to the surrounding outside plaza. There are Grillng Stations, a Wet Bar, Fire Pits, and a Pool to cool down your feet. I have been up here many days and nights photographing this space. You can really see how different the city looks from morning to night from this height. It is truly amazing.

I was lucky enough to get up there this fourth of July and took some shots of the fireworks off of the Elizabeth River.

This place is really spectacular and was a fun shoot. There will be more images to come. There are a few more amenities that are currently finishing up. Here are a some more exterior shots.
